The IJJO has been granted the Observatory Status in the Liaison Group of the EESC with the civil society organisations and networks
 
The International Juvenile Justice Observatory has been granted the observatory status in the Liaison Group of the European Economic and Social Committee with the civil society organisations and networks.

Set up in 2004, the Liaison Group ensures that the EESC interacts with the European civil society organisations and networks. It is designed to be both a liaison body and a structure for political dialogue. The Liaison Group ensures that the EESC has a coordinated approach towards these organisations and networks, as well as monitoring joint initiatives.

Children: Innocent until proven guilty?
 
Currently, in England and Wales a fifth of the minors in detention are on remand and the number of minors in this situation has increased by 41% over the last seven years.

An Africa worthy of children: a call for an accelerated action for their survival
 
The 'Day of the African Child' was established by the African Union (AU) in July 1991. from then on, this day is being celebrated by the complete African Community based on different reflection topics. The African States that are worried about their children’s welfare, and based on the country’s future, pretend to pause and evaluate the situation of children in their respective countries, especially of those in difficult situations. They also pretend to deepen the reflection on some specific problems and take appropriate steps to ensure the welfare of each child.

Prevention and intervention to tackle youth crime
 
[United Kingdom] - 
There should be a greater role for police in the prevention and early intervention of tackling youth crime, responses to the Youth Crime Action Plan (YCAP) consultation have suggested. Overall, responses welcomed the emphasis in the YCAP on prevention and early intervention, but many felt there was a significant role in this for police and this led to a call for government to better manage conflicting police priorities.
